Would I Be a Good Client?

I always wondered if I would be a good client if I could hire myself. Let’s take a look at my nutrition, training, and lifestyle today and not because I think today’s going good.

Nutrition

I eat 7 meals a day and here is exactly what I had today:

Meal 1: 20g. protein shake + 40g. of dextrose & maltodextrine with 1 Salmon Steak + 1 Orange
Meal 2: Choco Peanut Butter Mix consisting of 2 1/2 scoops of protein powder (EAS), 2 1/2 tablespoons of peanut butter and 1 tablespoon of flax seed. I also had 1 serving of carrots and 1 serving of mini-tomatoes.
Meal 3: I had a shake consisting of 2 1/2 scoops of protein powder (ON), 40g. of walnuts, and 1 serving of spinach.
Meal 4: I had concoction of 1 1/2 cups of cottage cheese + 2 1/2 tablespoons of almond butter, 1 tablespoon of flax, and 1 scoop of protein powder.
Meal 5-7: Yet to be had, but I’ll get some protein plus fat plus veggies.

I had a little too much protein powder in my opinion, but at least I got in my meals in a timely manner.

Training

I went to the gym today and did a conditioning workout consisting of bench press technique, push-ups, pull-ups, face pulls, single-leg squats, ab work, and Good Mornings. I’m consistent with my training.

Lifestyle

I don’t eat junk, I don’t drink, I don’t smoke, and I get adequate sleep.

In my opinion, I would be a good client. This is also what all of my clients exhibit – consistent nutrition, training, and lifestyle factors which equals success.

Bootcamp Training

Bootcamp training is awesome… if you have the right exercises. Basically, the basics still apply to bootcamp training so if you’re not doing push-ups, dips, presses, rows, squats, step-ups, deadlifts, etc., then you’re not doing things correctly. Isolation work is not going to provide much benefit for you if you only train 3 times a week. Don’t forget bicep curls are already in rows and triceps extensions are already in push-ups, but the load is heavier so you’ll get even more benefit with push-ups. Keep it simple and basic.

Losing Abdominal Fat

Posted in Uncategorized on February 10th, 2009 by Administrator – Be the first to comment

There are two things to improve losing your abdominal fat – doing whole body exercises and reducing stress. Both are linked to losing more abdominal fat. For whole body exercises, use push-ups, squats, rows, and other compound lifts. By the way, doing 500 crunches a day does not make you lose any more abdominal fat any other exercise. But, with squats, you’ll burn more total fat anyways. For reducing stress, this definitely requires lifestyle adjustments or whole-scale changes. But inevitably, you must change something.
