Taste Good

Remember the old “Life” cereal commercials when Mikey is asked how his cereal is. His response is “taste good.” This is something I don’t know I ever could have said when I first began “eating clean.” In the weightlifting world, to eat clean usually means eating chicken and brocolli all day long or some similar dry variation. This seems to be most people’s idea of “eating healthy.” The problem is that they are dead wrong. Their are so many resources out there which have healthy meals, but which actually taste good. One example is www.gourmetnutrition.com. There are no excuses to not eat food which tastes great and is healthy!

The Cooler

Some people give me funny looks when they see my cooler. They say something like “wow, that’s a big cooler, are you having a picnic?” Then I look at their cooler. Then I look at their waste line. What I notice is there seems to be an inverse relationship with the size of their cooler (and if they don’t have any, guess what?), the more fat they carry. Don’t worry, I don’t have anyone in particular in mind for this blog, it’s just that I’ve noticed that if you are not preparing your meals, you are left with very limited options. Some people choose fast food, what’s left in the cafeteria, or nothing. Then they get so hungry that they overload themselves on one meal at dinner time. Waiting to eat between breakfast and dinner slows down your metabolism which makes it easier for your body to store fat. The truth is I have two coolers and the one I get comments on is the small one! The big one probably could feed a family of five for a day.
